European Sport Development
The European Airsoft Federation supports the structured development of airsoft as a recognized sport across Europe. Airsoft is already played in many different forms, from local recreational events to national competitions and international tournaments. The EAF’s role is to help bring these developments together within a clear European framework.
The EAF sport development program aims to provide safe formats, transparent rulebooks, standardized officials framework, guidelines for responsible organizing, clear competition structures and cooperation between national federations. The EAF works to support this process of development step by step, while respecting national laws, national autonomy and the diversity of airsoft traditions across Europe.
Building Common Structures
The EAF aims to develop a unified European structure for all airsoft disciplines so that they are suitable for organized international competition. This includes the development and harmonization of rulebooks, uniform safety standards, officiating models, event requirements and reporting procedures.
Not every airsoft format needs to become a European Championship. Some disciplines may first develop through pilot events, national competitions or international tournaments. This allows the EAF and its member federations to test formats carefully, improve rules, evaluate safety and build experience before granting higher sporting status.
European Cooperation
A European sport structure can only work if national federations are involved. The EAF encourages member federations to contribute experience, propose formats, share rulebooks, report lessons learned and participate in working groups.
This cooperative approach helps prevent fragmentation. It allows airsoft to develop with shared standards where needed, while keeping enough flexibility for national differences and local practice.
Towards Recognized Competition
The long-term ambition of the EAF is to support credible European competition pathways. This may include EAF-sanctioned events, international tournaments, pilot competitions and, where a discipline is sufficiently mature, future European Championships.
