Congress
The Congress is the general assembly of the European Airsoft Federation and the highest decision-making body of the organization. It brings together the member federations of the EAF and provides the democratic foundation for European airsoft cooperation.
Each Full Member is represented in Congress by an appointed delegate. Through Congress, member federations take part in the formal governance of the EAF, vote on key decisions, elect board members, determine policy direction and help shape the future development of airsoft in Europe.
Democratic Governance
The Congress ensures that the EAF remains a federation of its members. Major decisions are not made in isolation, but through a formal process in which national organizations can participate, debate and vote. The EAF Congress adopts the principle of strategic oversight at the level of general policy and general direction.
Congress has authority over essential matters such as the admission and exclusion of members, the election and dismissal of board members, the approval of budgets and annual accounts, the determination of membership contributions, amendments to the Articles of Association, and the general direction of the Federation.
Annual Congress
The EAF holds at least one regular Congress each year in one of the member countries. This meeting provides a fixed moment for member federations to review the work of the Federation, assess financial and organizational development, discuss strategic priorities and decide on matters that require formal approval.
While an in-person Congress is preferred, participation may be supported by online attendance. This allows the EAF to remain accessible to member federations across Europe while maintaining proper procedures, voting integrity and democratic legitimacy. The Annual Congress is chaired by the President of the EAF.
Policy, Sport and European Development
Congress is not only a formal decision-making meeting. It is also the place where member federations set the wider direction for European airsoft. Topics may include governance, safety standards, sport development, event sanctioning, recognition of airsoft, member cooperation, communication, financial planning and the creation of working groups or committees.
Through Congress, the EAF builds common understanding between countries with different legal systems, traditions and stages of development. This makes Congress central to the Federation’s mission: strengthening airsoft in Europe through Unity, Teamplay and Sport.
Congress Documents
Agendas, minutes, resolutions and adopted statements are part of the official record of the Federation. They help ensure transparency, continuity and accountability towards the member federations and are made available to all members via the membership portal.
The EAF aims to make relevant Congress documents available to its members and, where appropriate, to the wider public. This supports open governance and demonstrates that European airsoft is organized, accountable and capable of responsible self-regulation.
