European Sport Development
The European Airsoft Federation’s long-term ambition is to support credible European Championships for airsoft disciplines that are sufficiently mature, safe and are suitable for wide adoption. The staple of A European Championship is that they have stable rules, qualified officials, reliable event organization, clear safety standards and participation from multiple member federations.
The EAF follows a step-by-step pathway. New or emerging disciplines may first be tested through pilot events, EAF-sanctioned single tournaments or Grand Prix-style formats. These events allow the Federation and its members to evaluate the rulebook, safety procedures, scoring systems, referee structure, player experience and organizational requirements before a format can be considered for European Championship status.
Role of Member Federations
Member federations are central to the European Championships pathway. They may propose formats, host pilot events, nominate officials, support national qualification structures and contribute to developmental working groups. Their experience helps the EAF determine whether a format is ready to be elevated to a European Championship.
Where national qualification is used, participation in official EAF competition structures should normally run through EAF member federations. This supports consistency, quality control and unity within European airsoft.
Responsible Growth
The EAF’s approach is deliberately careful. The objective is not to create titles and formats as quickly as possible, but to build championships that are respected, repeatable and sustainable. A European Championship must reflect the values of the Federation: Unity, Teamplay and Sport.
