Membership Criteria

The European Airsoft Federation is a federation of national airsoft organizations. Full membership is intended for national organizations that unite and represent a substantial part of airsoft in their country and support the goals, policies and objectives of the EAF.

This page explains which organizations may apply and what information should be provided with an application, so that the Executive Board and Congress can assess whether the applicant meets the criteria set out in Chapter 2 of the EAF Articles of Association.

Who may apply?

A national airsoft organization may apply for Full Membership if it is an association or federation that is:

non-profit;
dedicated to airsoft;
active at national level;
capable of being recognised by the EAF as the primary national entity for airsoft in its country;
democratically governed;
independent from external political or governmental influence;
committed to the EAF Statutes, regulations and decisions;
actively promoting airsoft as a sport.

Only one national organization per country may be admitted as a Full Member of the EAF.

What should an application include?

An application for Full Membership must be submitted in writing or electronically to the Secretary of the Federation at least 90 days before Congress. The Articles require the application to contain a commitment to respect the EAF Articles of Association, the decisions of the Federation bodies, and any other requirements approved by the Federation.

To allow the EAF to assess the application properly, applicant organizations should provide a clear application file containing:

Formal application letter with commitment statement
A signed letter requesting admission as a Full Member of the European Airsoft Federation with their in a written statement confirming that the applicant accepts and will respect the EAF Articles of Association, EAF decisions and applicable EAF regulations.
Legal identity of the organization
Documents showing the legal name, legal form, registered address, registration number if applicable, and official representatives/board members of the organization.
Statutes or governing documents
A copy of the applicant’s statutes, constitution, articles of association or equivalent governing documents.
Proof of non-profit status
Information or documents showing that the organization operates on a non-profit basis.
National representation statement
A description of how the organization unites and represents airsoft in its country, including its national role, structure and reach.
Governance information
Information on the organization’s democratic governance structure, including its board, election procedures, general assembly or member decision-making process.
Airsoft activity and development overview
A short overview of the organization’s activities, such as events, competitions, training, safety initiatives, member services, public affairs work or sport-development programs.
National championships or structured events, where applicable
The Articles state that national organizations ideally organize national championships or structured events. Applicants should therefore include information on any such activities if they exist.
Registry or membership information, where applicable
The Articles state that national organizations ideally maintain a registry of active athletes. Applicants should provide relevant information on their membership, participants or athlete registration system if available. The EAF is compliant with Regulation (EU) - 2016/679 (GDPR).
Independence statement
A statement confirming that the organization operates independently and is not subject to improper external political, governmental, commercial or organizational influence.
Delegate information
The name and contact details of the delegate who will represent the organization within the EAF, if the application is accepted.

Assessment and decision

After submission, the application is considered by the Executive Board. The Board then submits the application to Congress at least 30 days before the next meeting. If a refusal or objection is raised, the Board will assess the validity of that objection or refusal.

Applicants become members only after acceptance by Congress. Membership is granted by a majority of 51% of the votes cast by the member organizations present at Congress. Full membership rights apply from the date of the vote and upon receipt of full payment.

Continuing membership standards

Full Members are expected to remain active and accountable after admission. The Articles provide for a biennial evaluation of Full Members against criteria including active national presence, the organization of structured events or championships, democratic governance and contribution to the mission of the Federation.
