Safety Baseline
Safety is the foundation of European airsoft sport development. The EAF recognizes that airsoft is regulated differently across Europe. National rules, maximum power limits, age requirements, permit systems, replica classifications and event procedures may vary significantly from country to country.
The EAF does not replace national law. Every event, organizer and participant must comply with the legal requirements of the host country. At the same time, European cooperation requires a shared understanding of minimum safety standards, especially for EAF-sanctioned events and competition structures.
Mapping National Rules
The EAF will work with its member federations to collect relevant safety and regulatory information from European countries. This includes information on replica power limits, chronograph procedures, protective equipment, permit systems, age rules, transport requirements, field safety, organizer responsibilities and incident procedures.
This information will help the Federation understand where national systems differ, where common principles already exist, and where harmonization may be possible without interfering with national autonomy.
Towards a Minimum Safety Standard
Based on this information, the EAF aims to develop a minimum safety baseline for its competition structure. This baseline will not be a replacement for national rules. It will serve as an additional EAF standard for events organized, recognized or sanctioned under the EAF framework.
The safety baseline may include common principles for eye protection, replica power checks, safe zones, field boundaries, medical preparation, event briefings, referee authority, incident reporting and player conduct.
Safe and Responsible Competition
A European competition structure must be safe, credible and accountable. Clear safety standards protect players, organizers, officials and spectators. They also help public authorities understand that airsoft is capable of responsible self-regulation.
