Precision Target Shooting
Precision target shooting is one of the most controlled and accessible airsoft disciplines. Participants shoot from a fixed position at a target card placed at different distances. Unlike fast-paced arena or field formats, the focus is not on speed, but on accuracy, consistency and concentration.
This discipline closely resembles target shooting in a traditional range environment. It requires calm technique, focus, controlled breathing and a steady hand.
Competitive target shooting
Precision target shooting can also be practised in competition format. A competition consists of several rounds. In each round, participants fire a fixed number of shots at one or more target cards. At the end of the competition, all scores are added together to determine the final ranking.
This makes the discipline clear, measurable and suitable for structured sport development. It is easy to supervise, straightforward to score, and well suited for training, introductory events and national or international competition formats.
Airsoft for target shooters
Airsoft offers a valuable training and sport environment for people familiar with shooting disciplines. Many of the basic principles are comparable: safe handling, trigger discipline, aiming technique, body position, breathing control and concentration.
At the same time, airsoft makes target shooting more accessible. It allows participants to practise in a controlled, low-threshold environment using airsoft replicas, under clear safety rules and supervision. For the EAF, precision target shooting is therefore an important discipline: it demonstrates that airsoft can be safe, structured, measurable and suitable for formal sport development across Europe.
